NOLAN AT 2 YEARS
NOLAN'S 2 YEAR UPDATE
Weight: 28lbs measured at the Doctor on 10/07/14 (2 Year Checkup) (50th %)
Height: 37.5" (>100% = Off the Charts!)
Clothes Size: 2T or 3T shirts, 2T pants
Diaper Size: 5 (Huggies Snug & Dry)
Sleeping Patterns: Nolan is still sleeping through the night (8:00PM - 7:00 or 8:00AM). He is still taking a 1- 2 hr nap in the afternoon as well - Hope this continues for a while after the baby gets here too :).
Milestones: Teething: Nolan still has only16 teeth and his 2 year molars are working their way in as well. Nolan still runs EVERYWHERE and can climb our stairs very well - he is also able to walk down the stairs holding the railing... with Mommy, Daddy or Aunt Mel close by. He can climb on about anything that he wants to... he has climbed out of his crib a couple of times - but Mommy moved it away from the big bed and that has stopped... for now at least. Nolan moved into his new big boy (Cowboy) room last month in order to get ready for baby brother. He is still in his crib for the time being. Eating is still going great - he has mastered using a spoon and a fork. His favorite food right now is cantaloupe and peanut butter/jelly sandwiches and his least favorite is still green beans. Nolan is talking more and more. He will say and repeat (when he is in the mood) lots of words and phrases - "Mama, Daddy, Papa, Mimi, Uh-oh, I do, NO, I go, All done, Meas (Please), Tractor, Truck, Car, Two, Baby, Cheese, Teeth, Up, Down, I see you, There you Are, Gotcha! etc." He can also make several animal sounds - Our favorites are the Cow, Pig & Chicken - just ask him! Nolan LOVES to brush his teeth and usually acts like it is a treat to do so. Nolan still LOVES trucks - he usually tells me "Trucks" when I ask him what he dreamed about last night. Nolan just had a big 2 YEAR Truck Birthday party at our house at the end of September. He was very excited to eat "Cupcake" and run around the backyard with friends.
Favorite Memory this Month: As we are getting everything everything ready for baby brother to arrive, Nolan has been quite curious about all of the baby gear we are pulling out. When we tell him what it is for, he will usually walk up to it, pat it and say "Baby" or give it a hug and say "Awwww". Can't wait for our boys to meet :).
We love you sweet boy and can't believe you are already TWO! We have so cherished these past two years and can't wait to see what the future holds for you and our family.

14/52 :: EASTER
I am extremely behind in my picture every week posting... here is Easter. Poor Nolan was running a fever all weekend - but still was a good sport and checked out his goodies while we took this sweet picture. I love this basket... it was my Mom's when she was a little girl and then mine growing up and now it belongs to Nolan :).

12/13 WEEK UPDATE
Time for those pregnancy updates again... I am not promising there will be as many as last time... but I am going to do my best :)

Size of baby: Baby is the size of a peach - 3"long

Movement: Nothing yet - can't wait :).
What I miss: Having more energy.
Cravings: No real cravings this time that I can tell... I have been eating a lot of cereal... but I always do that. No food aversions yet either really - I thought the Mexican aversion was going to come back, but (to Josh's relief) it seems to be tolerable this time.

13/52 :: BIG BROTHER
That's right! Nolan is going to be a Big Brother this year - his baby brother/sister is due October 18th. They will be almost exactly 2 years apart. We are beyond excited and thankful for this new addition to our family.
Nolan was sporting his BIG BROTHER shirt when we face timed Mimi & Grammy/Papa to tell them the news a few weeks ago.
Nolan doesn't quite understand all of the changes that are in store quite yet... but he is definitely starting to notice that there is something different going on with Mommy's tummy. We are all excited to meet this new precious little one very soon!

6/52 :: Remembering Grandma
Today's photo was actually taken last March and is of Nolan and my sweet Grandma Francoise. She passed away peacefully last night. She will be so missed by all of us. I truly treasure the time we spent with her and all of our wonderful memories (including her meeting Nolan!)
Here are some of my favorite memories of Grandma:
- Grandma & Grandpa living in Oregon when we were young and seeing snow for the first time while at her house. She loved to dress us up in big snow suits and would make us keep the tags on so she could take them back when we went home to Florida :).
- Grandma & Grandpa would fly to Florida to visit us and she would occasionally bring certain baking ingredients (like butter) in her suitcase across country because we surely would not have the right kind in FL.
- Grandma would sometimes tell stories about her family growing up in France during WWII and the Nazi Invasion.
- Grandma's house was always so beautifully decorated... even at a young age I was fascinated by it. Maybe that's where I get the designer "gene" from? My favorite birthday present that she and grandpa gave me was giving me a room makeover where she helped me pick new paint and bedding, Grandpa would painted my room and Grandma and I rearranged all of my toys and books on the shelves to make them look better.
- Grandma was always up on the latest celebrity gossip. She kept us all in the loop.
- Grandma told Josh (on multiple occasions) that he looked just like Prince William.
- Grandma's crepe. Enough said.
We love and miss you, Grandma.

5/52 :: NOLAN IN CONTROL
This is Nolan's new favorite spot: on Mommy & Daddy's bed and in control of the remote. We have not really had to limit TV time too much at this point... his attention span is only about 3-4 minutes most of which is spent trying to turn up the volume or change the channel. Nolan in control - scary thought, scary indeed.

3/52 :: Collecting Rocks with Nolan
This is another throwback picture... (Before it was too cold to go outside without huge coats on). Nolan collecting rocks. This day he wanted to hold a rock in each hand at all times. Whenever he would come to a new rock, he would throw the other two down and then pick up the ones he liked best and move on. So thoughtfully and carefully. Love our boy.

Height: 33" - 92nd % (Measured at Dr. Appt. 1/10/13)
Clothes Size: 18 month (Some 24 month)
Diaper Size: 4 (Huggies Snug & Dry)
Sleeping Patterns: Nolan is sleeping through the night (8:00PM - 8:00AM) consistently now. He is sleeping longer at night and has dropped his morning nap altogether. He still takes an afternoon nap for about 2 hours.
Milestones: Teething: We now have 14 teeth. His one year molars came in along with a couple of others - he definitely has a month full. Nolan is
Favorite Memory this Month: Well really over the last 3 months... Nolan has really started to remember and interact with all of his grandparents a lot more. Nolan has always been a friendly baby, but it is so sweet to see him drop everything to run to Mimi or Grammy when he sees them. Josh's Dad (Papa) and Nolan have always had a sweet bond and even a noise they make when they see each other in person or on face time with their hand over their mouths but at Christmas time, Nolan started actually saying "Papa". Very sweet.

Photo Each Week Project :: Week 1
Happy New Year everyone! I have been on a blog hiatus for quite sometime, and in an effort to bring it back (and after some demanding suggesting from my sweet friend Sarah at MovingEastonWest.com) I have decided to take up the challenge of posting at least one photo a week. A couple of things… 1. I am hoping this will turn into some inspiration to post more than just one photo a week… and 2. Let's be honest, most of these photos are probably going to be of Nolan, but I am hoping to diversify it somewhat.
Which brings me to this photo for my first week of posting… It is a throwback to November when we went to Dallas for Thanksgiving and visited the Dallas Cowboys Stadium (Really neat tour, definitely worth the trip!). Nolan was wearing his cowboy boots in true Texas fashion and had a blast collecting leaves while we were waiting to get in. Enjoy!
